Thanks for posting this here, this seems like it should just be standard for bridge routes that start from the lower bridge, given you have enough blocks.
Does this lower trading hole have any relation to the staircase thing? I’d assume not but seeing that hole on a triple is pretty uncommon so I want to ask
No, im just not that good at auto-funnel so I did mogul hole instead. The main point is the staircase though.
I was also exploring the idea yesterday as well and found that you can place lava in the pre-dug hole if terrain is open to prevent them from ever going pass the stairs so you won’t ever lose pigs to that(for your varient an extra block shown as red wool needs to be added so they don’t push each other off):
My further developing today lead to a varient that is really dank and probably only better for a perfect player:
It uses the same amount of blocks, is entirely safe to crossbow pigs, the pigs wait at a closer spot and can pretty much never fall off the stairs but if you make one mistake you are dead.
